Kisumu
Kisumu is the third-largest city in Kenya after the capital, Nairobi, and Mombasa. It is the second-largest city after Kampala in the Lake Victoria Basin.
Nickname(s): “Lakeside City”, “Kisumo”,”Kisumu Dala”,”Kisumo Pacho”
Kisumu is a Kenyan port city on Lake Victoria. It’s known for lakeside viewpoints at Dunga Hill Camp and Hippo Point. The Kisumu Impala Sanctuary shelters herds of impalas and zebras
Dunga Beach
dates back to 1901 with the arrival of Indian settlers who built the railway line, and settled at Dunga to promote fishing.
A great birding site worthy of a visit! My wife and I have been visiting Kenya most years since 1998 and this, our 2011 trip, included a brief but very enjoyable visit to Dunga Bay in Kisumu on the north eastern shores of Lake Victoria.
